The healing power of beauty / Rod Dreher / March 31, 2010 / Beliefnet / I was also struck by the unexpected, and often unrecognized impact of beauty....like most orchestras in the country, we're struggling to get by, and I sometimes wonder if it is worth it all, but music, art and dance can sometimes touch people in the secret parts of their hearts and help bring comfort, and healing. Flaxseed can lower cholesterol in men / March. 29, 2010 / AMES, Iowa, March 29, 2010 (UPI) -- Eating about three tablespoons of flaxseed for three months decreased cholesterol in men, but not women, by about 10 percent, U.S. researcher say. Read more...

Vitamin B3 beats Big Pharma's Zetia cholesterol drug / March 30, 2010 / Mike Adams / HealingNews / (NaturalNews) The utter worthlessness of Big Pharma's cholesterol drugs was demonstrated recently by a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine which showed that niacin (a low-cost B vitamin) out-performs Merck's drug Zetia for preventing the build-up of arterial plaque, a symptom of cardiovascular disease. Will Virtual Colonscopy Detect Colon Cancer or Give It to You? Doctors Divided Over Screening Procedure's Benefits / JOSEPH BROWNSTEIN and DARRIA LONG, M.D. / March 30, 2010 / ABCNews / In advance of a meeting today on limiting unnecessary patient exposure to radiation, scientists who worked at the FDA told the New York Times that their concerns about radiation from the CT scans used in a virtual colonoscopy were largely brushed off. Read more...

EDITOR'S NOTE: This scientific proof reviewed is long overdue. For too long, AMA mandated treatment and diagnosis programs have extensively exposed both patients and conventional practitioners to dangerous doses of radioactivity, sometimes leading to cancers and/or other severe side effects. There are often much less "invasive" ways to treat people that work better.

Possible Link Between Vitamins, Breast Cancer? / 30 March 2010 / RedOrbit / A study recently published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has found that older women who use multivitamins might be more likely to develop breast cancer than those who do not use the supplements. Read more...

EDITOR'S NOTE: When food sources are unprocessed and natural, they are much easier to assimilate. Vitamins, especially the "conventional" chemical variety, are so refined they sometimes go right through lining of stomach to bloodstream, later over-taxing liver's function of flushing out "excess", then causing body to store it in tumors, fibroids or cysts. In other words, too much of something "full of nutrition" is sometimes worse than not enough. Balance is always the key.

Meatless Monday: Eating To Let the Healing Begin / Ellen Kanner / March 29, 2010 / HuffingtonPost / Cutting back on cow may seem a like rad concept at a time when meat consumption is only growing, but the concept of a plant-based diet, like tikkun olam, predates your mother's cooking. Read more...

FDA Alerts Consumers of Raw Milk Danger / Cole Petrochko / MedPage / March 28, 2010 / WASHINGTON -- An outbreak of campylobacteriosis has prompted the FDA and several Midwestern state health agencies to warn consumers against drinking unpasteurized, raw milk. Read more...

EDITOR'S NOTE: Many in the holistic and natural movement have known for ages that milk products, either pasteurized or raw, can cause serious health issues when consumed by humans. Cow's milk was designed for use by baby cows, not humans. Human mother's milk has approximately 1/3 the protein as cow's milk, making it much easier to assimilate by human infants. My recommendation - almond or organic soy milks as an alternative, if you really need it.

Cheesecake and other fatty foods overload the pleasure centers in the brain.Fatty foods may cause cocaine-like addiction / Sarah Klein / March 28, 2010 / (Health.com) -- Scientists have finally confirmed what the rest of us have suspected for years: Bacon, cheesecake, and other delicious yet fattening foods may be addictive. Junk food addiction may be clue to obesity - study *Overindulgence may alter brain responses/ Mar 28, 2010 / JoAnne Allen / Reuters / "What we're seeing in our animals is very similar to what you'd see in humans who overindulge," he said. "It seemed that it was okay, from what we could tell, to enjoy snack foods, but if you repeatedly overindulge, that's where the problem comes in." Read more...

EDITOR'S NOTE: The previous two articles simply validate what many of us should know by now. Junk foods are not only dangerous, they are hard to resist by too many humans, and animals. We need more programs with prizes, rewarding people for staying away from these things, than simply charging everyone more for health care and insurance, when eating like this carries such a high risk of leading to severe side effects.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Skin cancer symptoms can be exacerbated from useage of SPF lotions. The chemicals in these can cause adverse skin conditions. Although over-exposure to sunlight can cause burning, there is little verifiable evidence that this actually causes cancer, though lotions and chemicals can. The body needs to create natural vitamin D, from sunlight, to prevent cancer, so 20 minutes of sunlight per day without SPF protection can actually help prevent cancer. Best case: Drink carrot juice often, and it provides skin with carotene that works better than the SPF lotions to protect one from burning.
